① Download & extract

Download the portable zip from the "Download" button above, extract anywhere, double-click the exe to launch.

② Pick a mode

Top-left of the home screen: Screen only / Camera only / Camera + Screen. New users: start with Screen only.

③ Pick capture scope

In screen mode choose Full / Region / Window. Region: drag a rectangle. Window: pick an app from the list.

④ Configure audio

Need sound? Tick "Microphone" or "System audio". Both can run together, mixed into one track.

⑤ Start recording

Big button in the center. Click again to pause, click the square to stop. Video auto-saves to the LinLu-Recorder folder in your Downloads.

Does LinLu upload my recordings to the cloud?

No. All screen, camera and audio is processed locally on your PC. The only network use is the moment of activation-code verification (and only a machine-code hash and hardware fingerprint are sent — never any recording content).

What's the difference between free and membership?

Free: single clip ≤ 31 min, ≤ 720P, no scheduled recording, no region / window capture.
Membership ($9/quarter, $29/year, $49/2 years): unlocks 2K, scheduled recording, region / window capture, camera PIP, system audio capture, mouse highlight & click effects.

Can one activation code be used on multiple PCs?

No. One code activates one device, once. To switch PCs: open LinLu on the new PC → Profile → Machine code, send the new code to support, and support issues a fresh code. No deactivation needed on the old PC.

Can scheduled recording work while the PC is off / asleep?

No. LinLu's scheduler only replaces your "click start on time" — the PC must stay on with the app running. It can run for a long time, but can't wake from a powered-off state.

Where are recordings saved?

By default to the LinLu-Recorder folder in your Downloads. Change the output folder in Settings → Recording.

Which Windows versions are supported?

Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit. Windows 7 / 8 and 32-bit are not supported.

Can I uninstall it? Does it touch the registry?

Yes, and it's fully green. The portable build writes no registry, creates no system service, and doesn't auto-start. Just delete the folder to uninstall completely — zero residue.

I deleted the config and now can't activate — what do I do?

In the membership page activation box, type #清除激活记录# and confirm. This clears the local used-key record without affecting your current active membership. For further help, contact support on WeChat.
